Valentine’s Day Adventures

Hi Everyone 🙂

If you hadn’t already noticed, today is Valentine’s Day. That one day of the year when couples show each other how much they love one another, do romantic things together, eat lots of good food and do all that lovey dovey couple stuff. However, lets spare a moment for the single people out there. For some, being single is a choice and for some it’s not, however Valentines Day makes us single people feel lonely and upset that we aren’t getting any loving. This year I wasn’t going to sit and feel sorry for myself because for me I choose to be single, I like my independence and I love my freedom. Not saying that if the right person came along that I’d happily be in a relationship, but that’s another story. The point is, Today is just another day and I am going to enjoy it; especially in this beautiful weather!

I woke up a treated myself to a big bowl of chocolate, strawberries and cream oats (vegan doesn’t mean we can’t have chocolate, strawberries and cream! We just find an alternative 😜). I then made some delicious carrot cake cupcakes, which turned out more like cheesecake lol, but they’re delicious!

I then went on to explore the countryside 😁 I had never been here before but I had driven past these woods millions of times and noticed lots of dog walkers and cars always pulled in the lay by so I had to go and check it out. After walking no more than 100metres the woods opened up and I followed the footpath. A few moments later I spotted some dog walkers and realised that I was defiintely on track to a good walk. I followed the footpath and the river to my left and just kept walking, and walking, and walking, until I turned right up some steps and I was standing in the middle of miles and miles of fields. It was absolutely gorgeous. Me and my dog continued to walk and explore every turning, meeting friendly faces, warm “good morning” greetings and beautiful scenery. It was just gorgeous.

Today I could have sat in feeling sorry for myself or watching television seeing all lovey dovey programmes or so on. Instead I decided today I was going to embrace being single, take advantage of the great weather and go on an adventure. My adventure turned out to be bloody awesome, beautiful and uplifting. It opened me up to a whole new part of the country I’ve never seen before and which has literally been sitting on my door step for the past 25 years of my life; where have I been hiding? So go on, put your walking shoes on, go exploring, and go enjoy the place you live in. There’s beauty everywhere and you’ve just got to go and find it.

Stay healthy. Stay blessed.

Lots of love,

Hannah
